Douglas Dow
Professor in Business Strategy
Melbourne Business School
Douglas Dow is the senior Professor in Business Strategy at MBS and has been an Executive Director of the MBS Ltd since 2011. He currently teaches Business Strategy and the Capstone subject in the MBA program.
Douglas began his professional career as an Aeronautical Engineer with Pratt & Whitney Canada in Montreal. After completing his MBA at the University of Western Ontario, he joined the Melbourne office of the Boston Consulting Group. He then joined Melbourne Business School in 1993, both teaching on the MBA program and working on his PhD thesis. He finished his PhD at MBS in 1997 and was appointed as a full-time member of faculty. He has served as the Head of Department at MBS from 2013 to 2016; and is the current the President of the Australian & New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA).
Haydn Pound
Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Accounting
INSEAD
Haydn Pound is a management consultant and investor with a broad background in governance and management. His expertise includes strategy development and implementation, managerial accounting and control, performance reporting and organisational effectiveness. He is also a talented educator with significant executive education and corporate training experience.
Previously Haydn was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Australia. Before that, he worked in Melbourne, Chicago and Manchester with PwC where he was a manager in the firm’s taxation and technology consulting group. In mid-2014 he sold Advant Group Pty Ltd, a technology and services firm he founded in 2008. Today he consults to a range of Australian companies and sits on the Advisory Board of CareGiverAsia, a Singapore-based tech start-up. He is also a director of Goulburn Valley Water, an Australian water utility.
Haydn holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting, Dean’s List) and a Master of Business Administration (Melbourne Business School and the University of Chicago) in which he graduated with First Class Honours and received the CUB Award of Distinction. He is also a Certified Practicing Accountant and presently teaches into leading MBA, EMBA and executive education programs at the London Business School and other leading schools in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has won INSEAD’s Outstanding Teacher award on multiple occasions.
Haydn holds a private pilot licence with a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating and a formation flight endorsement. He flies regularly from Moorabbin, Melbourne’s general aviation airport.
